"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers" (Acts 2:42).
This group sits together to pray in silence and be still in the presence of God and each other. This lasts for about twenty-five minutes.
Then we take part in a brief and informal celebration of Holy Communion.
Finally, we share in a candid conversation that engages our hearts and minds. Often, someone will read aloud the portion of the Bible assigned for the forthcoming Sunday. Or we may use a brief reading from another source brought to us by one of the members of the group. These initiate wonderful conversations. They're never dull. They're frequently full of humour, heartfelt insight, and the sharing of those deep experiences that have shaped our lives.
The group gathers on Wednesdays at 3:00 p.m.
